Blown Glass Saturn Christmas Ornament

Blown glass Christmas ornament. A Saturn that actually LOOKS like Saturn! We make these first as a blown glass piece, with swirls of four different whites and tans to get the storms to look good. Then, using data from Cassini, we grind and etch the rings out of a sheet of iridescent glass. The iridescent on the bottom makes the ring plane glisten! Very cool!! Then the rings and the planet ball are attached. And with a loop on the top to hang on your tree. I like to hang these in the window during non-Christmas months. The sunlight coming through them is amazing!

We hand blow these ornaments ourselves. Ornament size is about 2″, and the rings about 4.5″. With the rings, the ornament is heavier than my others and may be too heavy for little trees.
